We try to make school a fun place to be for our pupils, so activities such as art, drama, recorder, gymnastics and gardening create opportunities to ensure that every child has the chance to feel successful at school.
We use lots of programmes during the school day to help the children to develop their numeracy and literacy skills. These programmes such as Power Hour for English reading, writing and comprehension and Station Teaching in Maths which uses Maths Recovery methods create fun lessons making the learning process enjoyable. Visit www.pdst.ie to see some video clips of Power Hour/Literacy Lift Off. If you would like more information on the subjects taught in St. Josephs see the Revised Primary School Curriculum 1999 visit www.curriculumonline.ie.

We welcome feedback and questions from parents and guardians. If you would like to speak to your child’s teacher at any stage during the year please feel free to contact the office and we can arrange this for you. The teachers and staff are here to educate the children at St. Joseph’s and work in partnership with you to ensure that they get the most out of their school years and the opportunities that education creates in life.
